Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan

 

 

       SSA is a comprehensive and integrated flagship programme of Govt. of India to attained Universal Elementary Education (UEE), covering the entire country in     mode. SSA has been lunched in 2001-02 in partnership with the State Govt. The SSA aim to provide useful and relevant elementary education to all children under the age group of 6-14. It also comparison to Universalize and improve quality of education through decentralized and context specific head planning and process and bridging level with specific objectives. It has its won target and norms and process.

 SSA has been providing

·                  Access,

·                  Improving retention,

·                  quality improvement in both primary and upper primary education sector,

·                  Special focus groups like Girls Education, SC/ST Education and

·                  Integrated Education for Disabled (CWSN) . As SSA adopts the   bottom-up process in planning. So it fulfill the needs of the community as per their wants on Elementary education.  

The major characteristics of SSA are

 (a) Forwarding steps towards achievement of UEE.

(b) Making the present education system and the curriculums qualitative in nature.

(c) Providing social justice to focus group of children through basic facilities for education.

(d) To involve community, Stake holders for improvement of Elementary Education.

(e) Expression of political will towards Elementary Education.

(f) To develop the thrust among all the people to achieve the Universalisation           Elementary Education at each and every district.

(g) Ensure the community and need based planning for improvement Elementary Education.

(h)Mainstreaming & equalizing the Gender Gap.

 

The major area under SSA  :

·                  Education of Pre School, In school & out of school children through ECCE,

·                  Enrolment of all the children covering of 6-14 age group in Govt. Govt. aided schools, A.I.E Centers.

·                  Improvement in the Quality of the existing education system (Teacher Training, Monitoring etc. Computer Aided Learning)

·                  Special attention to the Focus Groups (SC/ST Students and IED Students)

·                  Research and Evaluation ( DISE Data Collection, Child Tracking System 2006 and 2007 , Education Personal Information System (EPIS),

·                  Institution capacity Building.

·                  Community Mobilization.

·                  Civil Works

·                  Financial Management and Procurement.

·                  Engagement of the teachers as per the state norm &  P.T.R.

Quality Improvement of Education:  

1.                 Distribution of School Improvement Grant  @ Rs. 5000/- to each govt. and govt. aided  schools  Primary and @ Rs. 7000/- to Upper Primary and TLM Grant @ Rs. 500/ to each teachers to develop the teaching  learning materials is being provided.

2.                 Repair and maintenance grant of @ Rs. 7500/- in Average to each Govt. school having won building for annual repair and maintenance.

3.                 Develop the lesson plan/ scheme/ progress card of students.

4.                 Training to Primary and Upper Primary teachers to in the improve the  quality of education.

5.                 Supply of Teacher Hand Book to teacher.

6.                 Supply of free text book to all stakeholder.

7.                 Conduct unit test and annual examination by supplying of free questions.

8.                 Maintain the PTR

9.                 Intensive monitoring and supervision to reduce the teacher absenteeism.

10.             To make quality of education be more effective, Computer Aided Education has been introduced in 30 no. of schools initially.

11.             Teaching Learining Grant to each new primary school to Rs. 20000/ and Upper Primary to Rs. 50000/- for development school.

 

Girls Education:

1.                 Free Uniform has been supplied to all girls student for enhancement enrolment and retention  among girls students. .

2.                 PTA/MTA/VEC has been motivated to check the dropout of girls.

3.                 Organizing  Shishu Pratibha Ustav to encourage the girls student.

4.                 Four Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya has been establishing to enroll dropout children, SC/ST and BPL Category children. Namely R.R. U.P. Gaisilet, Under Gaisilet block Satibhata U P School, Deoli under Rajborasmabar block, Kotan Nodal UP School under Jharbandh block, Mandosil UP school under Paikmal block.

Children With Special Need (CWSN)

1.                 All child with special need come to mainstream in the system of UEE. They are provide tricycle, Wheel Chair, Crutches, Braille Canes and slate and Artificial Limbs and hearing aid . Last year 356 no. of beneficiary provide these items.

2.                 Medical Assessment camp, Theme based Camp and Speech training conducting for benefit of disable.

3.                 More then 600 school have constructed ramps for disable.

4.                 Surgical camp on Cleft lip and palate & Polio Corrective to reduce the disability.

 Computer Aided Learning

 The district Cover 55 no. of School for Computer aided Leaning through Innovative Education. The rural children get computer learning and computer aided learning

Management Information System

1.                 Details School information has collected through DISE data collection format and computerize at the district level and disseminate up to the school level in various ways. The District Information System (DISE) has been designed to provide the district and sub-district level school data for planning, monitoring and review of various project intervention. The data for preparation of Action plan and find out the major indicator like Enrolment, Teacher Position, Status of building, facilities like drinking water, PTR, Repeater, % of Female teacher and more indicate. All the Data of district block available at www.disedata.org & www.opepa.in.

2.                 Development of useful indicator of reliable data for policy formulation and implementation, an online child tracking system has been develop. Where the educational status of each available in the web and tacked individually to provide basis for schooling facility and to achieve the goal of UEE.  A village education registrar will be prepared for VEC to track each child physically.

          Education Personal Information System (EPIS) has been develop to monitor the system of Education and access. In the EPIS all detail of education personal data has been feeded and computerize and link with school data.
